Question from Ari Colon Three (07:27, 23 April 2026): Move punctuation to be inside formatting change.

← Previous revision Revision as of 06:59, 29 April 2026 Line 259: Line 259: :Hi Ari Colon Three! Welcome to Wikipedia! I'll be more than happy to answer your questions and help you! Your question about whether or not to refer to COVID-19 using past-tense or present-tense is a great one to ask! I took a look at the main COVID-19 article, and it refers to the disease itself or in general in the present-tense (Example: "[COVID-19] is a contagious disease caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2") but refers to events in the past involving COVID-19 in the past-tense (such as the COVID-19 pandemic, which was an event). The answer to your question here is that it's not a black-and-white "always use it in past-tense" or "always use it in present-tense" situation - it depends on the context and exactly what you're discussing. If the article will mostly cover the pandemic in that particular region, much of it will likely be in the past-tense, as these were events that occurred in the past. :Hi Ari Colon Three! :To your next question: I don't see an issue with using the 'archive-url' and 'archive-date' parameters of the Cite magazine to link to the archive.org page that you found of the media. Remember: we encourage everyone on Wikipedia to be bold! So long as you're not engaging in copyright violations or other serious policy violations, you're not going to be chased after by other editors with torches and pitchforks because you made good faith attempts at improving articles, but didn't do everything 100% correctly while doing it. Wikipedia is founded and based off of making improvements to an article after the last editor who modified it; if you do something imperfectly, other editors will undoubtedly fix and expand those articles after you're done with them, and so will the next editor after that editor is done, and so on... ;-) :To your next question: I don't see an issue with using the 'archive-url' and 'archive-date' parameters of the Cite magazine to link to the archive.org page that you found of the media.
